Fumetto zeigte am 2. Boomfest Comic-Festival in St. Petersburg die Gewinner des Fumetto Wettbewerbs 2008. Das junge russische Festival steckte voller Überraschungen, genau wie die Stadt. Der Besuch in Russland war toll.
Aber St. Petersburg hatte auch anderes zu bieten.

Nun aber genug der Klischees. Es fand das liebevoll veranstaltete Boomfest Comic-Festival statt und mit Ausstellungen von David B., Mawil und Gary Baseman konnte das Programm international bekannte Zeichner zeigen. Toll war auch das Vortrags- und Workshop Programm an dem beispielsweise Paul Gravett referierte, Frémok
und Canicola einen Workshop gaben.
Auch Fumetto stellte den interessierten Russen unseren Wettbewerb 2009 zum Thema Virus vor.
Wir sind gespannt auf den Anstieg von osteuropäischen Teilnehmern im nächsten Jahr.
Der Wettbewerb vom Boomfest hatte jedenfalls einige sehr schöne Arbeiten von russischen Künstlern zu bieten.
Boomfest stellte die Schweizer Comicszene ins Zentrum der zweiten Festivalausgabe. Die sensationelle Ausstellung von Atrabile wurde gezeigt.
Fumetto stellte seine Wettbewerbsgewinner aus und die Fabrique de fanzines aus Genf zeichnete und bastelte mit den Russen zusammen ihre Zines. Auch wenn das Prinzip der Fabrique für die Russen gar nicht so einfach zu verstehen war, schliesslich klappte es.
Ab und zu vergnügten sich die Fabrikarbeiter aber trotzdem nach Feierabend.
Zum Nachtessen verspiesen die hungrigen Proletarier sogar echte Bären!! Allerdings im Nobelrestaurant und auf Einladung des Swiss Center.
Das Boomfest lud auch viele tolle ZeichnerInnen aus der Independent-Szene ein wie Tommi Musturi und Amanda Vähämäki, die Kuti Kuti Neuheiten präsentierten oder Till Thomas und Klaas Neumann, die mit ihrem Orang Minibuchstand rauchend der Kälte trotzten.
Schön wars so viele ZeichnerInnen zu treffen
und zu feiern bis tief in die Nacht. St. Petersburg und das Boomfest war eine schöne Reise. Diesmal mussten andere arbeiten, wie z.B. Dimitry.
